Kashmir offers genuine value compared to more commercialised destinations — extraordinary settings at costs that often surprise couples. Your final number depends on guest count, venue, season and events planned. If you're planning your India wedding from abroad, we coordinate every detail across time zones.

What most planners don't tell you

  • Kashmir is safer than the perception

Over 16 million tourists visited Jammu and Kashmir in 2025. Major tourist areas — Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg — are fully operational with strong infrastructure and a welcoming local community. The gap between perception and reality is significant. Couples who visit always come back saying they wish they had come sooner.

  • The weather window matters more here than anywhere

Kashmir's beauty changes dramatically with the season. Spring brings tulip blooms and green meadows. Autumn brings golden foliage. Winter brings snow but also logistical complexity. Choose your season based on the visual experience you want — and plan your weather backup carefully.

  • Most vendors will travel from Delhi

Kashmir's local wedding vendor ecosystem is still developing. Most specialist vendors — photographers, makeup artists, decorators — will need to travel from Delhi or Chandigarh. Build this travel and stay cost into your budget from day one.

  • Srinagar is the logistics hub

All major venues connect through Srinagar airport. Guest travel is straightforward for the airport itself — but onward travel to Gulmarg or Pahalgam adds 2-3 hours by road. Brief your guests clearly and plan transport carefully.

  • This destination rewards early planning

Kashmir's best venues have limited room inventory. Combined with the logistics of bringing vendors and guests to the valley, a Kashmir wedding needs 10-12 months of planning to execute well. Last-minute Kashmir weddings are very difficult to do justice.

  • It is genuinely extraordinary

No other destination in India looks like Kashmir. The mountains, the houseboats, the Mughal gardens, the meadows — there is nothing comparable anywhere on the subcontinent. Couples who choose Kashmir almost always say it was the best decision they made.
