Andaman works best for intimate celebrations. The further you push the guest count the more logistics complexity increases — and budget follows. For 20-80 guests this destination is extraordinary value for the experience it delivers. If you're planning your India wedding from abroad, we coordinate every detail across time zones.

What most planners don't tell you

  • Keep the guest count small

The Andamans works best for weddings of 20-80 guests. Individual properties have limited room inventory — typically 30-60 rooms. Beyond 100 guests, guests need to be spread across multiple properties which significantly increases logistics complexity and coordination.

  • Everything travels in — including vendors

There are no specialist wedding vendors based in the Andamans. Photographers, makeup artists, decorators and planners all travel from the mainland — typically from Kolkata, Chennai or Delhi. This adds significant travel and stay costs. Budget Rs. 2-4 lakhs for vendor travel depending on team size.

  • Ferry logistics need expert coordination

Getting guests between Port Blair and Havelock Island requires government ferries or private speedboats. Ferry schedules are fixed and weather-dependent. A missed ferry means a missed function. Expert coordination of all guest transfers is non-negotiable here.

  • Permits are required for beach events

Outdoor beach ceremonies and events require advance permissions from local administration. Some beaches have environmental restrictions on décor, lighting and amplified sound. Work with a planner who knows the Andaman permit process — it is not the same as the mainland.

  • Outdoor music stops at 10pm

Sound restrictions apply across the Andamans — outdoor amplified music is not permitted after 10pm. Evening celebrations need to be planned around this.

  • This destination is for the right couple

The Andamans rewards couples who want privacy, nature and an experience over grandeur and scale. If you want a large loud wedding with 300 guests and a full entertainment lineup this is not the right destination. If you want 50 of your closest people on a pristine beach at the edge of India — nothing comes close.
