Accommodation is typically the largest cost in a Goa wedding — often 50-65% of the total budget. Many luxury properties charge venue rental on top of room costs if you do not book the full hotel. Plan your room block carefully from day one. If you're planning your India wedding from abroad, we coordinate every detail across time zones.

What most planners don't tell you

  • North Goa and South Goa are very different

North Goa is vibrant, social and lively — great for younger guest lists who want energy and nightlife. South Goa is serene, luxurious and quieter — better for elegant multi-day celebrations. The venue you choose determines which Goa you get. Know the difference before you decide.

  • Accommodation eats most of your budget

Most luxury properties in Goa require minimum room blocks for weddings — and room rates during peak season are significant. Add mandatory meal plans, taxes and venue charges and accommodation alone can consume 50-65% of your total budget. This surprises many couples. Plan for it.

  • Book 10-12 months ahead for top properties

Peak season in Goa is November to February and the best venues fill up fast. Taj Exotica, The Leela and W Goa are often booked a year in advance for popular December and January weekends.

  • Weather backup is non-negotiable

Even in peak season, Goa can have unexpected rain. Every outdoor function needs a beautiful indoor backup. The best venues have this infrastructure — choosing a venue without it is a risk.

  • Goa has India's most experienced destination wedding vendors

Because Goa has been a wedding destination for decades, the local vendor ecosystem is exceptional. Decorators, photographers, caterers and entertainment vendors here have done hundreds of destination weddings. This is one of Goa's greatest strengths.

  • Mid-week weddings offer significant savings

Booking a Sunday-Monday slot instead of Friday-Saturday can save Rs. 3-5 lakhs on venue and catering at many properties. If your guest list has flexibility on days, this is worth considering.
