Where in Thailand?

Thailand offers five distinct wedding destinations — each with its own character and appeal:

Phuket

Phuket is Thailand's most popular and well-equipped wedding destination. World-class beachfront resorts, dramatic cliffside venues, pristine Andaman Sea beaches and a mature wedding vendor ecosystem built over decades. This is where most Indian couples begin their Thailand wedding search — and for good reason. Trisara, Amanpuri, Sri Panwa and Anantara Layan are among the most sought-after properties in all of Asia. A destination wedding in Phuket means extraordinary beaches, exceptional service and a complete destination experience for your guests.

Bangkok

Bangkok is the choice for couples who want grandeur, urban energy and maximum scale. Five-star hotels with enormous ballrooms, rooftop event spaces overlooking the city skyline and access to Thailand's best vendors all within one city. A wedding in Bangkok works well for large guest counts — 300 to 500 guests — and for couples who want a city luxury experience rather than a beach setting. The Four Seasons, Anantara Siam and Rosewood Bangkok are among the most impressive wedding properties in Southeast Asia.

Krabi

Krabi is for couples who want something genuinely dramatic and intimate. Limestone cliffs rising from the Andaman Sea, quieter beaches and a sense of discovery that Phuket's more developed coastline cannot offer. Phulay Bay — A Ritz-Carlton Reserve — is Krabi's standout wedding property. Guest counts for a wedding in Krabi typically work best between 50 and 150. The scenery is extraordinary and the intimacy is unmatched.

Hua Hin

Hua Hin is a quieter, more refined beach destination — the choice for couples who want tropical luxury without the Phuket crowds. Just 3 hours from Bangkok, it combines easy access with a serene beachside atmosphere. The Rosewood Hua Hin and Anantara Hua Hin are the standout properties. A wedding in Hua Hin works well for mid-size celebrations of 100-200 guests.

Pattaya

Pattaya is emerging as a strong option for larger Indian weddings that want a beach setting with urban convenience. Close to Bangkok, with large resort properties capable of hosting 400+ guests and strong Indian catering options. The Royal Cliff Hotels Group is Pattaya's landmark wedding venue — one of Thailand's largest event complexes. A wedding in Pattaya is more accessible in budget than Phuket while still delivering a complete resort experience.

What most planners don't tell you

  • Each Thailand destination is completely different

Phuket and Bangkok are not interchangeable. Choosing the right part of Thailand for your vision, guest count and season is the most important decision you will make. A beach-loving couple of 80 guests belongs in Krabi or Phuket. A 400-guest joint family celebration belongs in Bangkok or Pattaya. Know the difference before you fall in love with a venue.

  • Indian wedding vendors travel from Bangkok

Specialist Indian wedding vendors — particularly decorators experienced with mandap setups and traditional elements — are primarily based in Bangkok. For Phuket and Krabi weddings, they travel in. Build this into your budget and always confirm availability during your dates.

  • Thai venues understand Indian weddings better than almost anywhere

Thailand is India's most popular international wedding destination. The major properties have experienced teams who understand multi-day Indian celebrations, dietary requirements, pheras, haldi, mehendi and sangeet logistics. This experience makes planning significantly smoother.

  • The monsoon in Phuket is real — season matters

May to September brings heavy rain to Phuket and Krabi — outdoor beach events become very difficult. Bangkok is unaffected by this and remains a good option year round for indoor events. Never plan an outdoor beach wedding in southern Thailand without checking the season.

  • Visa free entry for Indian nationals

As of 2024 Thailand offers visa-free entry for Indian nationals for up to 60 days — making it one of the most accessible international destinations for large Indian guest lists. No advance application required. We confirm current policies as part of our planning.

  • The guest experience is extraordinary

Thai hospitality is among the warmest in the world. Your guests will feel genuinely cared for — the food, the service and the overall warmth add a dimension to your wedding that goes beyond venue and décor. Guests consistently say they want to come back.
